The Background

HOPE is a Swedish fashion label created in 2001, by the designers Ann Ringstrand and Stefan Söderberg. The first woman collection was launched in Autumn 2002 and in 2005 a collection for men was added to the concept. The first brand shop opened in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2006, followed by 9 more Hope Shops. The HOPE Collection is also sold by over 260 exclusive retailers on 23 markets and in 7 HOPE Shop in Shops.

It begun as a creative discussion between two friends, Ann and Stefan, who both are passionate and extremely interested in well-made utility wear. After presenting a small test collection in autumn of 2001 they got the positive response necessary to launch HOPE to the market in 2002.

In the beginning a decision was made to focus and specialize only in Outerwear, Trousers and Accessories, to be able to deliver a quality and modern product without compromising. They wanted the concept to be original and unique rather than a traditional fashion collection with all product groups presented.

As the Brand has been growing and more customers join the HOPE Community the assortment range has been developed and today HOPE offers full range Collections for women and men as well as design co-ops with the field of Interior and Jewellery.

The mission

Our mission centres on an offering of well-made fashion design and communication. We value true product engagement and a consistent style. We grow by making our products inspire and support the individual consumer. The makers of HOPE are the foundation. We therefore enclose our workspace environment in our mission and care for individual growth and wellbeing.

The book: hope 1.0

After 10 years on the international fashion scene, HOPE summarises its history and concept in a book. The purpose of the book is to communicate our passion for the craft and visualise the essence of HOPE. Through a retrospection of the past 10 years, HOPE's ambition and traditions are illustrated in texts and images that represents the brands idea and concept. HOPE 1.0 is an exclusive linen cloth hardcover book of 100 pages in the format 200*255 mm. The book is available at HOPE Shops and selected retailers.

The design awards

HOPE was the first winner of the Nordic Design award “Ginen” by IN Magazine in 2003. The Men’s Collection of 2005 was awarded the Café Magazine fashion award for "Newcomer of the Year". In 2007, HOPE was once again honoured by Café Magazine as winner of the fashion award main category “Designer of the Year”. HOPE was also nominated for “Designer of the Year 2007” by Swedish Elle Magazine. In 2010 HOPE was the proud recipient of Sweden's most desirable design award, "Guldknappen", which is presented by the Swedish Fashion Magazine Damernas Värld.
